My daughter is single and has a ten year old boy. She makes approx. $900 per month. She is disabled and her income is disabiity, and child support. She also pays arrearages in child support for two children 19 and 20. She gets $134 in foodstamps which is definitely not enough. She has appealed their last decision, but I know a man who gets $134 in food stampa just for himself, and my daughter has a son to feed also, and gets the same amount.
The Arizona food stamp program will allow you to use your SNAP benefits at participating fast food restaurants, and full service restaurants. The program is called the Restaurant Meals Program , and if you are eligible, you can use your Arizona EBT Quest card to buy hot, prepared meals from a list of participating restaurants. The program also allows you to purchase hot meals from the deli section of certain grocery stores as well. There are eligibility requirements you must meet before you can participate. There requirements are in addition to the normal eligibility requirements for the Arizona Food Stamp program, and they are as follows: Disabled - Your household must contain at least one person who is receiving Social Security Disability benefits, Railroad Retirement Benefits Annuities, or any other form of disability payments. Expedited food stamps (SNAP benefits) is the name of a process where low income families are given food stamps within 7 days from the date of their application. Eligibility rules include the following: Your household’s income is less than $150 per month and your household’s assets are less than $100 (assets include cash that you have on hand and the money in your bank account). Your rent and utilities are more than your monthly income before deductions OR You are a migrant seasonal farm worker and your household’s cash and money in the bank is less than $100. If none of these situations apply, you may receive Food Stamps within 30 days of the date you apply for government aid. Unfortunately, during these tough economic times, many low income families and individuals will have no problem proving that their rent, utilities, and other expenses are more than the money they make.
I receive a large amount of emails from people who ask specific questions about the food stamp program. I do not mind answering the emails, but I figured that other people might have the same questions, but they do not ask. So...I decided to compile a list of the most frequent questions I receive about SNAP benefits. 1. Can I get food stamps even though I do not have children? Yes. All types of households receive SNAP benefits if they are eligible. 2. Can I get food stamps even though I have a job? Yes. If your working salary is low enough, and you are otherwise eligible, working people may still receive SNAP benefits. 3. How do I become eligible to receive food stamps? SNAP benefits eligibility is primarily based on the income of your household. Please see the longer post titled “ What is Considered to be a Household for Food Stamps ” for further clarificat...

ReplyDeleteIf you own your home but lose your job you don't qualify in Alabama. I wish they would try to pay all utilities and a car payment plus raise 3 kids.
