About Me


My name is Rachelle Williams. One of my passions is linking low income and working class Americans to helpful social service agencies.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, 12 percent of Americans -- 35 million people -- lacked the ability to put food on the table at least part of the year. They refused to refer to these people as being "hungry," but the situation is shameful to say the least.

Many Americans who are eligible for food stamps (SNAP) do not receive them, and when they inquire about them, clear instructions are not usually offered. I created this particular blog to bridge the gap between "government speak" and common sense straight talk.

Another one of my passions is writing. In addition to producing this blog, I am a web content producer (writing for Internet readers) and non-traditional college student. Producing web content is extremely easy, and I make enough money so that I do not have to work outside of the home.
